WHY IT MATTERS

Why a Thorough ADHD Diagnostic
Assessment Gives You Clarity

ADHD presents differently in every individual. A rushed or checklist-driven assessment misses the full picture. Our diagnostic process takes the time to understand your history, your environment, and the specific ways ADHD is affecting your life — so any diagnosis comes with recommendations that are genuinely meaningful.

Our whole-person approach means nothing is overlooked — from childhood development and sleep patterns to current relationships, work performance, and co-existing conditions.

  • Evidence-Based We use the DIVA-5 diagnostic interview, recommended by NICE, RCPsych, and UKAAN.
  • Consultant-Led Every ADHD diagnostic assessment is conducted by a GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Whole-Person Approach Medical history, lifestyle, family history, and co-existing conditions are all considered.

YOUR CLINICIAN

Led by Consultant Psychiatrists

Every ADHD diagnostic assessment at Integra is conducted personally by a Consultant Psychiatrist on the GMC Specialist Register — not a trainee, nurse prescriber, or psychologist.

ADHD Diagnostic Assessments

Common Questions
Answered

We know the search for a diagnosis can feel overwhelming. Here's clear, honest guidance on what our ADHD diagnostic assessment actually involves.

A consultation with an Integra Psychiatry psychiatrist

We use the DIVA-5 (3rd edition), an internationally recognised diagnostic interview for adult ADHD. It is recommended by NICE, the Royal College of Psychiatrists, and the UK Adult ADHD Network (UKAAN).

No referral is needed. You can self-refer directly to Integra Psychiatry, which many patients prefer for speed and privacy. If you have previous assessments or medical records, sharing these helps us build a fuller clinical picture.

Our ADHD assessment is £1,300. This includes the full psychiatric assessment, the DIVA-5 diagnostic interview, and your written clinical report. Payment is accepted via bank transfer or online card payment — card payments incur a 3% fee.

The assessment itself lasts 1 hour 30 minutes. You are welcome to bring a partner, parent, or close friend — their perspective on your behaviour is often a valuable part of the diagnostic process.

You will complete a childhood behaviour questionnaire and a current behaviour questionnaire. A parent, partner, or close friend will also be asked to complete a questionnaire about your current behaviour. These must be returned before your appointment — the assessment cannot proceed without them. School reports are also helpful if available.

Not always. It is not always possible to confirm a definitive diagnosis during the assessment itself. Your formal report, including diagnosis where applicable and treatment recommendations, will be issued within one week of your appointment.

Yes. Your written report is a formal clinical document suitable for sharing with your GP, employer, or education provider at your discretion. It can support applications for workplace adjustments or educational support arrangements.

Following your assessment, we provide personalised recommendations covering self-help strategies, coaching, behavioural strategies, and where appropriate, ADHD medication options. We work with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your preferences and circumstances.

Our assessments are conducted by Consultant Psychiatrists on the GMC Specialist Register and follow NICE clinical guidelines. Reports are formatted to support GP liaison and shared care arrangements for ADHD medication. We recommend informing your GP that you are seeking a private assessment so they are prepared to receive the report.

Yes. Consultations can be invoiced directly to your insurer where preferred. Prior authorisation from your insurance provider is required before booking. Please note that insurers do not cover late cancellation or non-attendance charges — these remain the patient's responsibility.
