Our Commitment

Integra Psychiatry is committed to making this website accessible to everyone. We want every person who visits — whether a patient, carer, or professional — to be able to find the information they need without barriers. This includes people with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, or neurological differences.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. This is the recognised standard for web accessibility in the United Kingdom, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

What We Have Done

We have taken the following steps to make this website as accessible as possible:

• Large default text — Body text is set at 18px as standard, which is larger than most websites, reducing the need to zoom.
• Plain English — All content is written in plain, clear language. We avoid unnecessary jargon or clinical terminology where possible.
• Keyboard navigation — The full website can be navigated using a keyboard alone, without a mouse or touchscreen.
• Screen reader compatible — Pages use semantic HTML with correct heading structure, descriptive labels, and landmark regions so that screen readers can interpret content accurately.
• Colour contrast — Text and background colour combinations meet the minimum contrast ratios required by WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
• Responsive design — The website adapts to all screen sizes including mobile phones, tablets, and desktops.
• No auto-playing content — The site does not use auto-playing video or audio, which can be disorienting or distressing for some users.
• Descriptive links — Links are written to be meaningful when read out of context, rather than using vague phrases such as 'click here'.

Known Limitations

We are continuously working to improve accessibility. The following limitations are currently known:

• Third-party contact forms — Our appointment and contact forms use a third-party service. While we have configured them as accessibly as possible, some elements may not fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. We are reviewing this with our provider.
• Embedded content — Some embedded third-party content may have limited accessibility support that is outside our direct control.

If you find a barrier not listed here, please let us know. We take all reports seriously and will do our best to resolve issues promptly.

How to Report an Issue

If you experience any difficulty using this website, or feel that a page does not meet the accessibility standards described here, please contact us. We aim to respond within five working days and will provide information in an alternative format if needed.
