WHY IT MATTERS

Why an ADHD Assessment
Changes Everything

Many adults with ADHD spend years being told they're "too sensitive," "disorganised," or "not trying hard enough." A proper assessment doesn't just give you a label — it helps you understand yourself and the support you deserve.

Our whole-person approach looks at how ADHD affects your work, relationships, sleep, and mental health, so your diagnosis comes with a plan that truly fits your life.

  • Evidence-Based DIVA-5 gold-standard diagnostic tool, following NICE clinical guidelines.
  • Consultant-Led Every assessment is conducted by a GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • Whole-Person Approach We look at the full picture — mental health, physical health, life history.

YOUR CLINICIAN

Led by Consultant Psychiatrists

Every ADHD assessment at Integra is conducted personally by a Consultant Psychiatrist on the GMC Specialist Register — not a trainee, nurse prescriber, or psychologist.

Common Questions
Answered

We know the search for a diagnosis can feel overwhelming. Here's clear, honest guidance on what our ADHD assessment actually involves.

A consultation with an Integra Psychiatry psychiatrist

No referral is needed. You can self-refer directly to us, which many patients prefer for privacy and speed. If you have prior medical records or a history of previous assessments, sharing these helps us build a fuller clinical picture.

Questionnaires screen for symptoms but cannot provide a diagnosis. Our assessments are conducted by GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrists using the DIVA-5 gold-standard tool. The resulting report is medically recognised and suitable for NHS shared care agreements and workplace adjustments.

Yes — we offer secure, HIPAA-compliant video consultations for patients anywhere in the UK. The assessment process, report quality, and clinical standard are identical whether you attend in person or via telehealth.

Our assessments follow NICE guidelines and are conducted by Consultant Psychiatrists on the GMC Specialist Register. Reports are suitable for reasonable adjustment requests, DSA applications, and GP shared care agreements for medication.

We provide a clear, personalised care plan as part of your report. This may include medication recommendations, therapeutic pathways, and support letter templates. Follow-up appointments for medication titration and ongoing review are available.

Our ADHD assessment is £1,300, which includes the full psychiatric evaluation, DIVA-5 interview, formal diagnostic report, and personalised care plan. There are no hidden fees. ADHD treatment follow-up appointments are £325 for 30 minutes, inclusive of the prescription fee. We accept bank transfer, card payment (3% fee), and private health insurance with prior authorisation.

Your assessment is a comprehensive 1 hour 30 minute consultation with a Consultant Psychiatrist. We use the DIVA-5 — the gold-standard structured diagnostic interview recommended by NICE guidelines. This covers your childhood development, current symptoms, daily functioning, and how ADHD may interact with other aspects of your mental and physical health. It's a conversation, not a checklist.

If ADHD is not confirmed, we provide a clear explanation of your results and what may be contributing to your symptoms. We can recommend alternative assessments, therapeutic pathways, or referrals as appropriate. You still receive a written summary of the consultation.

Many GPs will enter a shared care agreement to continue ADHD medication initiated privately. Our reports are specifically formatted to support shared care requests and include all the clinical information your GP needs. We recommend discussing this with your GP before or after your assessment.

Titration is the process of finding the right medication and dose for you. It typically takes 6–12 weeks with regular follow-up appointments. We use both stimulant (methylphenidate, lisdexamfetamine) and non-stimulant (atomoxetine, guanfacine) options. Your Consultant Psychiatrist supervises the entire process with close monitoring.
